A Little Bit of Home

Anyone who has grown up close to mountains knows the draw you feel to strap some form of wood to your feet and slide down a mountain.  I was feeling this especially this year so I decided to fly back home to be reunited with my skis.  Unfortunately, the ski season in the Rockies has not been the greatest this year. That just meant there was more time to hang with family and friends and relax in Canada style (i.e. hot tub).

I love spending time with my sister!  The best part about going home is hanging out with this one.

Unfortunately, I also have to see this one. Dumb Dave!
I love going to the lake! Even in the winter, the lake is so much fun.  Even in the winter, without snow, we still managed to get up to no good!

What do you do with boys who can't sit still? You send them outside to build something. This year, it was a teepee.

Here is the inside roof.

The weather was nice and warm. This meant that Fernie Mountain was closed due to rain (and lack of snow).  That meant we had more time to play on the ice!

This is my happy place.

It looks a bit Blair Witch, but it kept us entertained. It will also make gathering the dead brush much easier this summer!

Dave welcoming everyone to his home.
I also got a chance to spend some time with my fur-niece and fur-nephew. I love this pic of Bing. He looks deceptively happy.

I did get one day of decent skiing in. The trip home was a nice reminder of how awesome Canada is and how much I can't wait to go back for the summer! It also reminded me that I have not been skiing in Europe next so that has set into motion some plans for Christmas 2015...
